Diablo IV Vessel of Hatred // Vases of Hatred

To promote the launch of Diablo IV’s Vessel of Hatred expansion, we created an experiential stunt that allowed players in select markets to send each other “Vases of Hatred” -- bouquets of toxic jungle flowers housed in a custom Vessel of Hatred themed vase, complete with a spicy AI-generated message designed to spread Mephisto’s hatred straight to their nemesis’s door.

Participating players also received an in-game reward. Players outside of those select markets could still download and send digital Vases of Hatred to join in the fun.

We worked with Mojo Supermarket to develop a custom 3D printed vase design that brought to life the world of Nahantu, based on existing 3D files of in-game architecture. We also worked closely with a floral designer to develop our dream bouquet: something that screamed toxic, evoked the lush jungle of Nahantu, fit our budget, and could be transported from our agency’s hub in NYC. What we came up with incorporated painted leaves, orchids, ferns, and carnivorous pitcher plants.

For key creators in the world of Diablo, we developed and sent a unique version of the bouquet that included only dried and preserved flowers - making these Vases of Hatred a keepsake that will last for years to come.
